Yogini (n.):

A practitioner of yoga;

feminine of Yogi

Welcome to The Outernational Yogini, the birthplace of my love and passion for everything yoga, wellness and travel.

The most dizzying question I am asked when I travel is: "where are you from?" Having lived in six countries and traveled to twenty-six, it is hard to label myself as being from any one place. I consider myself a citizen of the world. Borders keep us separate; we must learn to see ourselves when we look into the eyes of another and to recognize that we are one.

Yoga helps us to see the connection we have to nature and all sentient beings. Yoga is the practice of unifying mind, body and spirit in order to be at one with our experience and thereby become more deeply aware. This awareness cultivates courage, faith and most importantly loving compassion, all of which are called upon when getting lost in new places. Exploring new environments and cultures calls on us to be ever-present in order to fully soak up the experience.

Travel is yoga.
