Meet Stephanie.

My name is Stephanie Taras, RYT-200, yogi, art lover, world traveler, tree hugger and  creator of The Outernational Yogini.

I am Canadian born, grew up on the small island of Aruba, and moved to Baltimore in 2002. Most recently, I have located to Salt Lake City, UT. I am quadra-lingual (English, Spanish, Dutch and Papiamento) and am an avid traveler, having visited 26 countries and lived in 6. The majority of my travels have been through Central and Western Europe, East and Southeast Asia and the United States. I always say that I can talk to anyone, as long as the conversation involves sharing travel stories.

I began practicing yoga at the age of 15 with my mother Jane, who has had a great influence on my spiritual life.

I have dedicated myself to daily yoga for the past 4 years and completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training in August 2015 and 300 hour yoga teacher training in August 2016, both at Baltimore Yoga Village. I believe that yoga is something that can be accessible to all bodies and backgrounds, and is a practice that has brought a great deal of peace and presence to my busy and sometimes chaotic life. My teachings incorporate creative sequencing combined with simple breath work, easy to grasp alignment principles, and life-shaping wisdom I have gained through personal experience and travel. I invite students to get out of their heads and to access the inner knowledge of their own bodies and intuitions, creating a deeply mindful, balancing and rejuvenating experience.

I teach vinyasa yoga, gentle/restorative yoga, alignment-based yoga, yin yoga, meditation and pranayama (breathing technique).

Inspiration coming your way...
